Things I’d rather do than be stuck in the office on a sunny day

What a waste of a sunny day
At work when I should be at play
What a waste of a sunny day
When the beach is out of reach
What a waste of a sunny day

Well, the sun is crackin’ the tiles
While I’m stuck here jugglin’ files
I could be at a barbeque
And give the company an IOU
Or I could be eating ice cream
‘stead of livin’ in a daydream
When all I want is candy-floss,
Completely covered in wasps

So I just beg the boss’s pardon
As I head into the garden
Or drink Pimm’s on the veranda
With my ice cold Miranda

What a waste of a sunny day

Well, the sun is splittin’ the trees
The streets awash with knobbly knees
I want a knotted hanky upon my head
Dip my feet in the crystal blue Med
You know it’s just not fair
Cos’ I’m stuck here in my swivel chair
When there’s nothing so diviner
Than being in a poolside recliner

Well, the sun is wearing his hat
But I’m in no mood to celebrate that
Cos’ I have reports to write
And the sun don’t come out at night
I could be mowing the lawn
Instead of working ‘til dusk since dawn
I could be puntin’ on the Cam
Instead of slavin’ for the man
